Directions to library: Take I-70 to Exit 203 (Frisco/Breckenridge exit). After the
first stoplight continue on for 1.5 miles (through six stoplights, counting the first one).
At the sixth stoplight turn right (the road sign on the stoplight cross bar says "CR1004").
Follow that road 3/10ths of a mile and turn right once again. You are now at the County
Commons building which has the library and meeting rooms + other County offices. Follow
the road that goes beside the building to what seems to be the back of the building and find
two parking lots. Park in one and head for the flag pole - the front door is behind the flag pole.
The meeting room is to the left of the stairway going downstairs.

With the increase in concern about patron privacy more libraries are encrypting
their user authentication for remote access with the installation of Secure Sockets
Layer certificates. Inexpensive options and possible problems will be discussed.
This portion of the panel discussion will focus on the process that our library went through in developing and implementing
various technologies to create virtual maps that have the ability to interact within our Web OPAC.
Colorado State University began a WebOPAC redesign during spring 2004 in preparation for the launch of
Millennium Silver. Lately, Innovative has made changes much easier by providing well-organized
Photoshop files, implementing cascading style sheets, and allowing direct FTP access. By using
these tools, some creativity and a few techniques to fool the WebPAC, you can massage your design
into something worth showing off.
See how usability study results can drive both website and WebOPAC redesign. This session will
discuss the study results and how those ideas were integrated from top to bottom throughout
the library's sites. Some of the challenges faced in redesign include using the staging
directory, Silver beta test, integrating WebBridge and INN-Reach resources, and more.
Pat Ingersoll will outline the motivations, objectives, and toolsets used in the website redesign
recently completed at Penrose Library. The end result attempts to accommodate typical web-age
search behavior. A single search box is consistently presented and site visitors are provided the
option for the highest degree of self service possible.
