Mission
The mission of the Rocky Mountain Regional Innovative Users Group (RMRIUG)
is to facilitate communication and sharing among libraries in the region
that use Innovative Interfaces, Inc. products. Wide representation of
library professionals and support staff from all types of libraries is
desired. The RMRIUG hopes to encourage the optimum use of the Innovative
system through shared training and local programming, as well as to foster
and develop relationships and communication with the national Innovative
Users Group (IUG) and Innovative Interfaces, Inc. At present, the RMRIUG
operates as a group without a formalized structure and will remain
informal in nature until such time further organizational issues (bylaws,
formal committees, dues, etc.) are deemed necessary. An organizing
committee and training task force have been working together to develop
the RMRIUG's initial educational opportunities.
RMRIUG Goals
- Encourage all Innovative libraries in the region to participate.
- Experiment with a variety of methods of providing training and
enhancing communication.
- Work to enhance, not duplicate projects of the national IUG (i.e.
listserv, directories).
- Utilize free or low-fee facilities at regional libraries for programming.
- Piggyback on other scheduled events as appropriate (i.e CLA, NMLA, etc.)
