About RMRIUG
Began in 1999
Planning Committee coordinates Users Group activities
Investigates regional training needs
Plans workshops and programs to meet needs
Staff at regional Innovative libraries are encouraged to submit training topics
Goals
Encourage all Innovative libraries in the region to participate.
Experiment with a variety of methods of providing training and enhancing communication.
Work to enhance, not duplicate, projects of the national IUG.
Utilize free or low-fee facilities at regional libraries for programming.
Piggyback on other scheduled events as appropriate.

Three half-day or full-day workshops a year

Using the web-based user manual and CSDirect
Using Millennium modules

Loveland Public Library arranged for use of the Loveland City Council Chambers
Room was already set up for videotaping City Council meetings
Separate cameras were in place for the speaker and for the presentation screen
A computer with an Internet connection and a projector were available
Presentations were scheduled in 20 minute segments for conversion to streaming media
Conversion to the Web
Videotapes converted to digital using an ATI All-In-Wonder graphics card, and Roxio Videowave 5 software
Used Windows Streaming Media format with a bit rate of 500Kbps
Each 20 minute segment uses 75 MB of space on an IIS web server
